The “Lord of the Rings” series, filmed in New Zealand, required the use of advanced technologies. Stunning Digital Solutions developed a paperless system for the extras department, completely eliminating the need for physical forms, which brought speed and efficiency to the management process.
In addition, we automated the tracking time for the transport department. Normally, a Crew member needs to submit their TimeCard weekly to the accounting department, including specific calculations unique to the film industry.
The standard process, which involves opening the computer, accessing the template, entering data, exporting to PDF, and sending it to payroll, typically takes between 9 to 15 minutes per employee.
With the system we developed, we were able to generate 400 TimeCards in less than 7 minutes, while also ensuring accuracy in calculations, completely eliminating the risk of data entry errors, as the entire process was automated.
