My career in cinema and event production has always been driven by a passion for improving processes. The opportunity to volunteer in the casting department at the Rugby World Cup’s opening ceremonies, organized by DAE Global, was a milestone that would profoundly transform my professional path. Having worked for many years with events and film productions, particularly in casting for commercials, theatre plays, and TV series, I was always curious to know what it would be like to work on a grandiose show like the Olympic openings, or in this case, the Rugby World Cup with over a thousand artists and performances in the Soccer Stadium.

The key to the impressive organization I witnessed from DAE was a customized system to manage the event with specific tasks, using the Claris FileMaker platform to create this system. This system not only simplified logistics; it revolutionized them and was very easy to use because it was specifically designed for that type of work. Where there were once piles of paper and manual processes, there was now digital efficiency that allowed focus on what mattered: the flawless execution of the event.

Inspired by this revelation, I decided to dive in and learn to use FileMaker. Realizing that if this technology could manage a world-class rugby event with such mastery, the possibilities for developing tools for TV and commercial productions were immense.
